CGBP Exam Item Writers

The CGBP (Certified Global Business Professional) Governance Council in conjunction with the NASBITE International Board of Governors extends an invitation for trade practitioners, educators and assistance providers to participate as Item (Question) Writers to build a new test bank of questions that can be used in future CGBP exams.

Item Writer Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in international trade either as a practitioner, educator or trade assistance provider.

Seeking subject matter experts in the areas of:

  1. Global Management
  2. Global Marketing
  3. International Supply Chain Management
  4. International Trade Finance

Do not have to be Certified Global Business Professionals (CGBPs) or meet any other restrictions

Key Dates & Time Commitment:

August 14, 2013 – Item Writer applications due

August 18, 2013 – Selection of Item Writers made, and notifications made

August 21, 2013 (2-3:00 p.m. CST) - Availability to participate in at Item Training Webinar that will provide guidelines/instruction on how to construct a solid exam question

August 22-September 12, 2013 – Time to construct and cite 15 exam questions

September 12, 2013 – Final deadline for submission of new questions

Additional Opportunities to be Involved

As part of the CGBP Exam Review process that CGBP Governance Council is leading this year, several opportunities exist for those of your that have your CGBP Credentials in hand to lend your expertise and support. Listed below are the "next steps” in the review process, along with dates, locations and participant requirements for each of those sessions. If you are interested in participating in any of those sessions please contact Jackie Rasmussen, CGBP Governance Council Chair.

Item Review Workshop– September 26 & 27, 2013 – Chicago, IL

Purpose– Assist with the review and validation of CGBP test bank questions that may be used for future CGBP exams.

Participant Qualifications

·Must be a CGBP

·Must Not be involved in training or material preparation associated with preparing candidates to take the CGBP Exam

# Participants Needed– 12-16 Subject-Matter Experts with expertise in the Global Management, Global Marketing, International Supply Chain Management & International Trade Finance.

·Travel expenses associated with participating in this workshop are the responsibility of the participant

·Selected participants will be allocated continuing education credits (10 hours) sufficient to meet their CGBP recertification requirements for 2013 or 14 (as needed)

Exam Construction Workshop– October 17 & 18, 2013 – New York, NY

Purpose– Final CGBO test bank refinement and exam process review.

Participant Qualifications

·Must be a CGBP

·Must Not be involved in training or material preparation associated with preparing candidates to take the CGBP Exam

# Participants Needed– 6-8 Subject-Matter Experts with expertise in the Global Management, Global Marketing, International Supply Chain Management & International Trade Finance.

·Travel expenses associated with participating in this workshop are the responsibility of the participant

·Selected participants will be allocated continuing education credits (10 hours) sufficient to meet their CGBP recertification requirements for 2013 or 14 (as needed)

Pass Point Workshop– November 14 & 15, 2013 – Location TBD

Purpose – Assist in determining the "pass point” for future CGBP Examinations

Participant Qualifications

·Must be a CGBP

·Must Not be involved in training or material preparation associated with preparing candidates to take the CGBP Exam

·May Not have participated in any of the 2013 Exam Review Activities (Item Writing, Item Review Workshop or Exam Construction Workshop)

# Participants Needed– 10-12 Subject-Matter Experts with expertise in the Global Management, Global Marketing, International Supply Chain Management & International Trade Finance.

·Travel expenses associated with participating in this workshop are the responsibility of the participant
