Recently, the SBJA authorized the SBA to provide reimbursement for costs related to certification of SBDC and WBC counselors in providing export assistance.
The SBA’s Office of Entrepreneurial Development (OED) will reimburse costs associated with the registration and testing necessary to attain advanced certification in providing export assistance to small business concerns that is incurred by counselors from Small Business Development Centers, Women’s Business Centers, and SBA staff who are actively engaged in counseling and/or training nationally accredited provider of such certification. This registration and testing is specific to the Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) credential.
The Goal of the Grant:
Deliver the CGBP credential to SBA affiliated small business counselors at no cost to the counselors.
Certification includes registration, access to practice tests, testing and delivery of results to qualified certification candidates. SBA will pay for the first round of registration and testing only. If a candidate fails the test, future expenses are borne by the candidate.
The period of performance for this engagement will be through December 15, 2013.
How the process works:
Candidates will visit: http://www.nasbite.org and follow the process of registering for the CGBP exam. All candidates must identify (preferably by their e-mail) by title and/or business address that they work for one of the aforementioned organizations. At the payment portion of the web registration, candidates will select, "bill me.” At that point, NASBITE staff will process the request for reimbursement according to protocol outlined in the SOW.
SBA candidates are also entitled to one online practice exam. Please contact email@example.com for practice exam retrieval instructions.
Candidates with questions concerning registration may contact the NASBITE Intl. office at: (216) 802-3381.
