Roundtable Discussion on EU Trade Barriers Facing SME's

The U.S. Trade Representative the President's cabinet level trade policy official, has requested a study on European Union trade barriers facing small and medium-sized enterprises. The study will be used to assist the United States' negotiations with the EU on a wide range of trade policy issues. The USTR would also like to catalogue trade-related barriers for US companies exporting to the EU that disproportionately affect SMEs, compared to larger U.S. exporters to the EU.

The U.S. Commercial Service is organizing the following event:
Opportunity to Participate in a Roundtable Discussion on EU Trade Barriers Facing SME's
Date:  Tuesday, September 10, 2013, from 9am to 11am
Location:  1st floor conference room of the Fifth Third Bank Building, 600 Superior Ave., East, Cleveland, OH 44114
Description:  The U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), the President's cabinet level trade policy official, has requested a study on European Union (EU) trade barriers facing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).  The study will be used to assist the United States' negotiations with the EU on a wide range of trade policy issues.  The USTR would also like to catalogue trade-related barriers for US companies exporting to the EU that disproportionately affect SMEs, compared to larger U.S. exporters to the EU.  We would like to hear from SMEs in all industries.

Who Should Participate:
We want to hear from SMEs (fewer than 500 employees) that have some experience exporting or have tried to export to the EU, and have faced:
EU-wide barriers to trade and/or
Specific trade barriers in individual EU countries.
The information disclosed during the roundtables will be reported anonymously (no individual or company names, city and date only)
